  • Must have completed at least 15 nights of silent Vipassana or Metta retreats led by Spirit Rock, IMS or other recognized Insight Mediation teachers AND
  • Must have five (5) years of Mindfulness practice
  • Please provide the teacher's names, the dates, location, length and tradition of the retreats when applying.
NOTE: The 15 nights does not include workshops, zen or Vajrayana retreats. The 15 days of mindfulness/metta retreats can be a combination of several retreats, but none should be shorter than five days each.

Retreat Description: Mindfulness and metta (lovingkindness) are gateways to liberation. During this meditation retreat, we will share teachings and practice together in silence. We will quiet the mind, open the heart and see our human life with the eyes of wisdom and love.

Spirit Rock extends a special invitation to young adults (age 18-26) who wish to attend this retreat at a rate of $35 per night, on a first come, first serve basis. A limited number of special rates are available, please apply early.

After the lottery closes, applicants will be notified by email of their status no later than 5:00pm on Thursday, January 5, 2017; please refrain from calling before this deadline. If you are selected in the lottery, you will be sent an email with a special link to register and pay your retreat fees online. If you end up on a waiting list, you will be notified of your position on the list.

Also remember that the cost above is priced as a sliding scale. Please pay at the highest level of the sliding scale that you can afford. This allows others who need to pay less the opportunity to attend. Fee is for room and board. Teaching and staffing of the retreats is by donation at the end of the retreat.
