In this daylong you will calm your body and nervous system and look deeply into the inner workings of your own mind. You will see into the process, content and nature of your inner experience and expose the forces that shape your perceptions. This is the ancient practice of Calming and Insight or Samatha/Vipassana. Cultivating a depth of calm and stillness allows us to engage in a different kind of inner seeing, a deep seeing that can yield profound and liberating insight.
In this day of practice, we will weave together traditional approaches to Calming and Insight practice (Samatha/Vipassana), periods of mindful sitting and walking, Dharma dialogue and inquiry, and a series of body-based energy and awareness practices to support you in cultivating tranquility of mind, a balance of body and energy, and the capacity to see into the nature of things with wisdom and clarity. This event is open to all experience levels and all are welcome.
Young Adults (18-26) and Seniors (65+ with limited income) are invited to attend this day for $45.
Online registration for our programs is available until 12 noon of the last business day prior to the day of the event (e.g. online registration for a Monday program ends at 12 noon on the prior Friday).
