Wisdom and compassion are natural qualities of mind that develop when we learn to attend skillfully to our experience with awareness. They arise when the mind is not obscured by confusion, fear or desire. And yet these afflictive habits are also natural qualities of mind that are experienced by everyone. Through our practice we develop that which is skillful, and gradually let go, through understanding, that which is not. Over time as we cultivate awareness, it becomes a natural part of our life. In this way, our practice becomes our life rather than remaining an activity or pastime distinct from it.

During this day together, we'll explore the cultivation of a natural awareness that can become part of our daily life. Starting with a chosen object or anchor, we'll open the practice to know more objects and to include the quality of the mind that is meditating — the mind itself. Through relaxing the body and mind, we can come to understand the effortless nature of being mindful, which in turn leads to the blossoming of wisdom, compassion and a more mindful life.

Young Adults (18-26) and Seniors (65+ with limited income) are invited to attend this day for $45.
