Technology is an essential part of modern communication, but it is easy to feel overwhelmed by it all. Mindfulness, which comes from ancient Buddhist teachings, can help us deal with this area of our life in a more balanced and helpful way.
Join us for this day of exploring Dharma teachings that can help us deal with modern technology. We will learn practices that can help manage technology better, which include learning to manage our own heart and mind with more grace and ease. We will discuss changing our relationship to inputs like email and texts, to the concepts of inner and outer worlds, and to our idea of self. We will touch upon concepts of impermanence, achievement, self/non-self and time.
Bring your most helpful or troublesome devices for a day of practice and discussion. Much of the day will be spent in experiential exercises that you can later do at home. Come see how these ancient practices can inform a modern life in surprising ways.
Young Adults (18-26) and Seniors (65+ with limited income) are invited to attend this day for $45.
Online registration for our programs is available until 12 noon of the last business day prior to the day of the event (e.g. online registration for a Monday program ends at 12 noon on the prior Friday).
