Janice Gates, founding director of the Yoga Garden in San Anselmo, California, began her studies of yoga and vipassana meditation while living in Asia in 1988-89, and has been integrating the two ever since. Janice has been leading retreats for over a decade and maintains a private practice in Yoga Therapy. In her teaching, she guides students to honor the intuitive wisdom of the body and emphasizes the integration of practice into daily life. She is the author of Yogini: The Power of Women in Yoga.
