In his research, biologist Wallace J. Nichols has uncovered evidence for the many ways in which water impacts our minds. In his work he combines findings from neuroscience and psychology, nature and conservation, art and science, poetry and practice in profound and important new ways. The result is an emerging, exciting, fast-growing new field called "neuro-conservation" with new research and more discoveries about "blue space" yet to come.

Dr. Wallace J. Nichols is a scientist, activist, community organizer, author and dad. He works to inspire a deeper connection with nature, sometimes simply by walking and talking, other times through writing or images. He is a Research Associate at California Academy of Sciences and his work has been broadcast on NPR, BBC, PBS, National Geographic and Animal Planet and featured in Time, Newsweek, GQ, Scientific American and New Scientist, among others. His most recent work has been on BLUEMiND: The Mind + Ocean Initiative, merging the fields of cognitive science and ocean exploration.

Join us for a day of discussion and practice as J. Nichols and Grace Fisher explore the ways that our relationship to water impacts our minds. Learn how you can build a stronger relationship to this natural wonder that can deepen your practice, your relationship to the water of the planet and to your own mind.
