While we are often pulled into planning, fears and anxieties about the future or dwelling on the past, we can train our minds to turn towards "this presently arisen state" and get to know what obstructs us from the true peace of presence. Meeting our experience in this way, everything is teaching us!

During this daylong we will come together as a community to support each other by keeping Noble Silence.

The nuns will offer guided sitting and walking meditation, dharma reflections, chanting and opportunities for dialogue.

Please be sure to bring either your own lunch or a vegetarian dish to share with the nuns and the group. Since the beginning of Buddhism 2600 years ago, Buddhist monastics have depended on almsfood. They were, and still are, prohibited from growing their own food or storing their own provisions. After the meal there will be an opportunity for qigong practice with Isabelita Papa. Come join us in this special shared offering.

If you would like to bring provisions for Aloka Vihara Forest Monastery, please click here for more information.
