This three-day non-residential retreat is a unique opportunity to work in an intensive way to open and deepen your recovery. Over these three days we will work the Twelve Steps using Buddhist teachings and practices through meditation, lecture, discussion, interactive and written exercises. Students will learn mindfulness and loving-kindness meditation practices that support their recovery. Sessions will explore Twelve Steps themes including:

  • Powerlessness
  • Higher Power
  • Inventory
  • Amends
  • Spiritual Awakening
Buddhist topics include:

  • Four Noble Truths
  • Eightfold Path
  • Five Hindrances
  • Five Precepts
  • Three Refuges
  • Four Foundations of Mindfulness
The Buddha’s teachings on craving and letting go will be a particular emphasis, as well as self-compassion and loving-kindness.

Each session will include periods of meditation and time for questions. Students will have the opportunity to write and share on recovery topics, as well as develop community in an intimate setting. We will use the "Buddhism & The Twelve Steps Workbook" as a framework for working the Steps.

Young Adults (18-26) and Seniors (65+ with limited income) are invited to attend this 3-Day Non-Residential Retreat for $135.


General Information

Online registration for our programs is available until 12 noon of the last business day prior to the day of the event (e.g. online registration for a Monday program ends at 12 noon on the prior Friday). There is an additional $5 fee for registering at the door. If you can't attend an event you registered for, please see our Cancellation Policy.
