Our Community
Spirit Rock was founded by a group of spiritual friends passionate about the Dharma, and it has grown from a living room sitting group to a global center that is becoming one of the great temples of the Buddhist world. The Buddha taught that in a world of uncertainty, three "jewels" support our practice: Buddha, Dhamma (Sanskrit: Dharma), and Saṅgha. The jewel of Saṅgha is the spiritual community, the good friends who travel the path alongside us—teaching, inspiring, and giving compassion.
Our year-round retreats, online gatherings, and paths of training are all in service of spiritual community, and are made possible by the dedication and passion of everyone who practices together here. Spirit Rock is part of the global network of Insight Meditation centers, and maintains connection with our root lineages of Burmese vipassanā and the Thai Forest Saṅgha, and all of our honored Buddhist ancestors in both Theravāda and Mahāyāna lineages.

As Spirit Rock grows both our online and on-land programs, new career opportunities continue to arise to fulfill the needs of our community. Current full-time and part-time roles include remote, hybrid, and onsite opportunities.
