We cultivate samādhi because the gathered mind is a powerful mind. This is a time in our collective experience where those of us who are awake and awakening need to build the kind of power that can affect change—the kind of power that comes when we recover our attention from all the distractions that are available to us, and we're able to see clearly and respond to what we see.
