Tara Brach, PhD is an internationally known meditation teacher, and bestselling author of Radical Acceptance, True Refuge, and Radical Compassion. Each month there are over 3 million downloads of her podcast, which addresses the value of meditation in relieving emotional suffering and serving spiritual awakening and societal transformation. Tara worked as a clinical psychologist for over 20 years, and currently leads accredited workshops for mental health professionals. She and her colleague Jack Kornfield offer a Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Training Certification Program that serves participants from more than 50 countries around the world. As founder and a senior teacher of the Insight Community of Washington, DC, Tara offers meditation retreats and a live-streamed weekly class. Dedicated to the awakening of compassion in our society, she has taught workshops for members and staff of the United States Congress and to judges of the D.C. Superior Court, and brings teachings of mindfulness-based compassion to issues of racism and social justice, environmental justice and sustainability, and animal rights.
