Andrea Lieberstein

Andrea Lieberstein, MPH, RDN, IMTA CMT-P, RYT, Founder of the Mindful Eating Training Institute, is a mindful eating expert, certified mindfulness meditation teacher, internationally recognized mindful eating teacher trainer, author, mindfulness-based registered dietitian, ecotherapist, and Buddhist Eco-Chaplain trained at the Sati Center for Buddhist Studies. She is a graduate of the Dedicated Dharma Practitioner Program at Spirit Rock’s Dharma Training Institute and a graduate of the Dharma Leadership Program taught by Anam Thubten through Dharmata Foundation. She has practiced Vipassana meditation since 1987. In addition, she has degrees from Stanford University and the University of California at Berkeley. She was instrumental in bringing mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) and developing and implementing mind body programs for Kaiser Permanente, working there for over 20 years.

Andrea leads evidence-based Mindful Eating and Living Trainings based on the pioneering program MB-EAT (Mindfulness Based Eating Awareness Training) and Buddhist Wisdom, and Well Nourished™ trainings and retreats internationally for both health care professionals and the general public. She also offers Professional Certificate programs to become a Mindful Eating and Living Teacher and a Well Nourished Health Coach™.

She is author of the book, “Well Nourished”, which was chosen as a “Best Mindfulness Books in 2020” by Mindful Magazine, and a contributing author to 'Resources for Teaching Mindfulness: An International Handbook, and 'The Relaxation and Stress Reduction Workbook' (5th edition).

Andrea also works with individuals in a mindfulness-based whole person approach informed by mindful eating, integrative nutrition, mindful self-compassion, ecotherapy and mind-body medicine to have more peace, balance, freedom, self-compassion and joy in their relationship with food, nutrition, body-image, and stress-related issues and health concerns to bring their lives back into balance and vibrancy through mindful eating and living.

One of Andrea’s great passions and joys is studying, practicing, and sharing the Dharma and the life transforming practices of mindfulness, meditation, self-compassion, mindful eating, nature-based awareness practices, and a “Well Nourished” life with others. She is inspired daily by meditation practice, and the healing power of nature and Dharma.
